DONALD TRUMP CHALLENGES VINCE MCMAHON TO A MATCH AT WRESTLEMANIA 30

Whether or not anyone should take this seriously remains to be seen, however new WWE Hall Of Famer Donald Trump challenged Vince McMahon to a match at WrestleMania 30 during his speech at the induction ceremony held at Madison Square Garden on Saturday evening. Trump mentioned his desire to break previous pay-per-view records by stepping into the ring for a match with McMahon.

DOLPH ZIGGLER TEASES CASHING IN HIS MITB BRIEFCASE AT WRESTLEMANIA 29

During a promotional interview with video game website IGN, WWE Superstar Dolph Ziggler teased cashing in his Money In The Bank briefcase at WrestleMania 29 this Sunday.

When the subject of cashing in his briefcase came up, Ziggler noted, “We forget that eight months ago I was trying to cash it in on every Monday, Friday, Sunday, and every time it ended with my teeth getting kicked down my face.”

Ziggler continued, “I eventually got fed up with that and said, ‘The next time I do this, it has to happen. Let’s make it count,’ and that’s what I’m looking forward to.”

Ziggler concluded, “One of these times it’s going to happen. Maybe it’s Sunday.”

WRESTLEMANIA 29 PREDICTIONS FROM LANCE STORM

The Rock vs. John Cena:

I picked Cena to win last year and paid for it, but I’m going to stick with him this year and predict he picks up the win. I just can’t see him losing 2 years in a row.

Alberto Del Rio vs. Jack Swagger:

This is one I was a little on the fence with for quite a while, but I’ve decided to go with Del Rio retaining the title. I don’t think the Swagger thing has heated up as much as they have hoped and I feel WWE is generally reluctant to switch both titles on same show. I’m not super confident with this pick but I’m going Del Rio.

The Undertaker vs. CM Punk:

I’m to the point where I doubt I will ever pick against the streak and with the heavy ending to RAW this week and the tie in with the later Paul Bearer (Bill Moody) I just can’t see Undertaker losing this one. Undertaker goes to 21-0.

Brock Lesnar vs. Triple H:

This is a tougher one for me; I can see reasons for this match to go either way. Brock won the first match, Hunter’s career is on the line, HBK is out there with him, I can certainly see HHH picking up the win. That said Hunter really is more of an office guy now and everything I’m hearing says that Brock is staying around, so do you really want him going to 1-2 in WWE and having a loss against every opponent he’s faced since returning to WWE from UFC? I’m predicting Brock Lesnar beats HHH again. Here is my logic. There are 2 big rematches on this show and I think most people are predicting 50/50 booking with the guy who lost the first time getting his redemption this time. This match will no doubt be on before the Rock-Cena match so HHH losing a second time could really help the Main Event with people thinking if Brock can win 2 straight maybe Rock can too, especially with rumors that WWE might build to Rock vs. Brock next year at Mania. Triple H is pretty much retired anyway and I can’t really think of anyone out there who would be a big meaningful opponent for him moving forward, that is of course unless HBK “accidentally” costs Hunter his career and they come up with some “Unsanctioned” stipulation next year for one last final hurrah between Triple H and Shawn Michaels. I’m not saying that will happen I’m just saying Hunter coming back again next year, to face just a guy on the roster, doesn’t really make sense so he could do good business here and building Brock even stronger.

Team Hell No vs. Ziggler & Big E:

I was pretty confident we were going to get a tag title switch in this match and I was fully prepared to pick Dolph and Big E in this match and then RAW came along and Team Hell No got left laying with the Heels completely dominating. This is usually a hint that they will get theirs at the PPV and Team Hell No will prevail so I’m stumped. I do expect Ziggler and Big E to end up with the Tag Team Titles but it is possible that won’t happen until sometime after WrestleMania. There is also the possibility of Ziggler losing here and cashing in the MITB briefcase on Del Rio and winning the World Title. This is a tough one. I don’t have a lot of confidence in this pick but I’m going with Team Hell No retaining the titles. I think there is a possibility in the Dolph Ziggler cash in, so I’m picking Team Hell No.

Fandango vs. Chris Jericho:

WWE seems to be really high on Fandango so I see him picking up the win here. It just doesn’t make sense to beat a guy in his debut match and Jericho is pretty much Teflon at this point so I’m confident Fandango is getting his hand raised in this match.

Rhodes Scholars & Bellas vs. Tons of Funk & Funkettes:

This match could certainly go either way, and in the end it doesn’t matter all that much. Getting pinned in an 8 man mixed tag isn’t hurting anybody, so I’m going with the feel good moment of Team Funky picking up the win and everyone shaking their booty.

Mark Henry vs. The Ryback:

For me this comes down to who needs it most. I’m not sure Ryback has had a significant win on PPV yet so I think he needs this win so much more than Mark. Mark has been a killer much longer than Ryback and Mark just being Mark gives him all the credibility he needs. Ryback losing this one I think really hurts him, where Mark will be fine either way. I’m picking The Ryback.

The Shield vs. Orton, Show, Sheamus:

I’m picking The Shield in this one. I don’t think they have been beaten in a match yet and I don’t see any reason to start now. Orton, Show, and Sheamus are not a regular team so having a miscue either on purpose or by accident by someone on this team leading to one of them getting pinned is what I would do. Thinking long term The Shield staying strong just makes sense.

PAUL HEYMAN TALKS PUNK VS. LESNAR, PUNK VS. AUSTIN, PAUL BEARER ANGLE & MORE

Paul Heyman spoke with Chad Dukes of ChadDukesWrestling.com and 1067 The Fan to promote WrestleMania 29. Here are some highlights:

The Paul Bearer angle:

“I mean leave it to a Jew to portray a resurrection the day after Easter Sunday. That was part of how offensive it was supposed to be! Of course, it was designed to offend! It was designed to be controversial! It was designed to piss people off and I wish it went even further than it did.”

The possibility of a CM Punk vs. Brock Lesnar match:

“Listen if they happen to come to blows, I have both sides of a main event, that’s not bad. Isn’t that conventional thinking, I’d have to choose one side? Listen, tell ya my theory of life. I have a hot girlfriend. I have another hot girlfriend, on the side. Now, I can sit there and lie to them both and say, “Honey, you’re the one,” and then go to the other one, “Baby, you’re the one.” Or I can get them together and have the best of all worlds. Now you tell me, do you wanna live the double life, or do you sit there and say, can’t we all get along? So, why can’t I have both sides of the main event?”

A Steve Austin vs. CM Punk match:

“I’m very intrigued by what could possibly happen if those two could step into the ring with each other. The chemistry with each other, and around each other, there’s a real combustible element there. You just know it. They have so much respect and admiration for each other, but man you look into each others eyes going, “man I’d really like to tangle with this dude.”

“Let’s say Austin comes back for WrestleMania XXX, let’s say he comes back against CM Punk. Is that a $200 million dollar weekend in revenue? Is that a $200 million dollar gross revenue weekend and is the catalyst for that figure going from 150 to 200, Stone Cold Steve Austin? Now if that intrigues Steve, it intrigues me but I’m not Steve, I think Steve would be back.”

CM PUNK TALKS ABOUT STEVE AUSTIN, THE NEW WWE TITLE BELT, WEARING A CESARO SHIRT

CM Punk spoke with Chad Dukes of 106.7 The Fan while at WrestleMania Axxess. Here are some highlights:

Wearing an Antonio Cesaro shirt at the WrestleMania press conference:

“It was a clean shirt that grabbed and I wore that day. It’s not some sort of silent protest because he’s not on Mania, although I will go on record right now that it’s absolutely ridiculous that he doesn’t have a match at Wrestlemania. I will pimp that guy until the cows come home. He’s awesome. He’s everything that the WWE should want in their superstars. He’s tremendous. He can wrestle, he’s a brick house, he’s looks the part, he acts the part, he walks and talks that part. He can speak seven different languages! You’re missing the boat on this guy.”

The new WWE Title belt:

“That was actually one of the goals. I never would have spoken about it on TV if there wasn’t a new title belt ready to go. So, I did that and I just got the run-around forever about it. It was talked about, it just never happened.”

The Undertaker and The Streak:

“I’ve got the Undertaker and I think the streak, ultimately, is bigger than the title. Twenty years undefeated at Wrestlemania and the way this thing’s been built up, no I’m not salty about not even having the title anymore. I think I built that thing (the WWE title) up and I worked very hard to do that, to get it ready for the next guy. So no, not salty at all.”

Steve Austin:

“It’s never been really acknowledged within the WWE. This isn’t me trying to promote something that isn’t there, but there was just this hilarious tension in the room when me and Steve were in there. It’s funny to actually be in a room live, everybody else is uncomfortable except me and Steve. There’s this weird magnetism. It’s this unspoken thing. The only way I can describe it, and Paul Heyman completely 100% agrees, it’s the Old West and there’s the two gunfighters, and they’re buddies, but everybody always goes, ‘I wonder what would happen… what if?’ And that’s all it is. It’s fun.”
